Funny Fridays

Holden told me, "If you eat anymore chocolate your stomach will burst open." (maybe that's why you haven't heard from me on Tor Talks recently)

Holden says Tatatoo for Tatoo!

Thursday Thirteen

Posted by Picasa
The Thirteen Reasons Leila loves her new booster seat.
1. She really thinks she is a big kid now
2. She uses the same seat belt just like mom and dad
3. She gets to buckle the seat belt (again just like mom and dad)
4. 2 cup holders
5. She can move it around the car
6. She can move herself all around
7. She can buckle her baby in next to her
8. She tells her brother once he's 5 he can sit in a booster
9. A reason to tell everyone something exciting
10. She loves to show it off
11. She wants to run all kinds of errands
12. She had 2 (one in each car)
13. It's unbelievable how special she feels with this "new seat."

Graduation...

Leila had her official "graduation" from preschool last night. It involved a play, they were all given lines to say, a song and the actual graduation (cap, gown, tassle) where they walked the stage. The whole concept is a bit over the top for me, but the kids LOVED it and were so proud of themselves.

Leila did great with her lines in the play. Her cap was in the process of falling off when she got her diploma, but one of the teachers on stage put it back on...It didn't seem to bother her at all...that's my girl!! My sister and both sets of grandparents were there to see the whole production. We came back for cake, dinner and presents afterwards. :)

Where has the time gone? She'll be going to big school next year.

Funny Fridays

Leila went with me to take a StrollerFit last night. During the abs portion, while everyone was listening, she asked, "Is tonight bath night?" Which sounds so awful like she only gets a bath once a week. I can assure you she gets more than one. LOL

Artwork

It was teacher apprection week this week. Leila and Holden worked hard on their frames; painting, decorating and finishing up with decoupage.

Funny Fridays

I have to stop making a mental list and write down the funny things said during the week. I'm missing some good ones.

Holden asked, "Why do we have heads?" He asked me this question after bonking his...we call it his coconut. I tried to explain that you have brains and they are in your head. :)

A couple of days later he asked, "Why do we have stomachs?" I told him they hold our food. :) Let me know if you have any better answers

My mom was over today, and she, Leila and I had an assembly line going for some work I was doing. I told her, "Let's get crackin." (hurry up) She thought it was hysterical. She was telling me that she and Muffy were crackin, but mommy was behind. The next minute she was tell us to, "get crackin" and make some room for her. Everything was crackin!

Leila and Holden made picture frames for their teachers for Teacher appreciation. They painted them, we put stickers, cute words and then they decoupaged them. (Decoupage...their new fav word) Pretty funny to go into Michaels with your 3 year old son and he asks if something was "decoupaged" Anyway, we put the first inital of the teacher's name on each frame. Leila calls them Ms so and so. She could not, would not understand that their name did not start with M (ms.) Try explaining that!

The Weekend...

We had a fun weekend!! My parents asked my sister and me to help them clean out their storage unit. It really shouldn't be called "their storage" unit b/c it's was mostly filled with mine and Val's stuff...they do pay for it though. :)

Initally, I thought what a drag to spend part of my Saturday cleaning it...until I started opening up some of the bags. It was like a time capsule. I found stuffed animals from when I was a kid, highschool and college stuff. It's amazing all the memories that come back!

We also found a lot of my grandparents things. One of which was a hat. My grandfather never left the house without his fancy hat. Holden took to it immediately and had it on. It was kind of eerie (is that a word?), because Holden's look has always reminded me of my grandfather.
