First haircut

Zoe was born with some CRAZY hair. All different lengths! It was time for a haircut.

Before

During
After

Her hair looks much better from the front.  I must have cut 2 inches from the sides.  The back is a little uneven, but she was turning her head so much, it was the best I could do.

Un-birthday present

This is such a sorry picture.
Holden upgraded to his new booster seat for Leila's birthday.  He has been trying Leila's out at every opportunity...like when we are waiting in the car line.   He likes to move her booster up by Zoe, sit in it and keep her company.

Well, he finally got one of his own!
Congratulations Holden!

6 months

Luckily, I started this post at the beginning of the month and had documented most everything.  Thanks goodness I'm writing this stuff down because stuff changes so quickly.  Now, 3 weeks into the month she has already reached some new milestones...till next month.

It's been a great month with Zoe.  She is a sweet baby giving lots of smiles, giggles and squeals.  I'm getting more and more used to being mom to 3.  Zoe likes to cry when she is sleepy, bored or hungry.

Zoe tried rice cereal on Feb. 14th at 5 1/2 months.  It didn't go so well.  The usual ick face with the tongue pushing out everything that went in.  She still has pretty bad reflux, so we will see how this goes.

Zoe is sleeping about the same.  She is still sleeping in our room in the pack n' play.  Her fussing usually begins around 4:30 in the morning and off and on till about 6:30 then she goes back to sleep.

Zoe had her pictures made at Portrait Innovations at 5 months.  She was a super baby there as the entire process took us 2 1/2 hours. She was so interested in her hands at one point they had to stop taking pictures...there is a possibilty that she has never seen such big hands.  Her hands are HUGE!

She has been rolling over more, but still prefers her back.

Zoe likes:
Kicking around on the floor
Her bouncy seat
her swing...for pleaure not to sleep
Her ultrasaucer
The bumbo seat is getting better
looking and admiring her hands
grabing her feet
being swaddled
Pulling on her hair
her high chair
her car seat
StrollerFit
her picture book
crinkle book
sophie the giraffe
smiling
anything that squeaks
giggling
kicking and thrashing around her arms and legs
Leila and Holden
car rides
touching, grabbing everything in front of her

Zoe does not like:
Rice cereal

StrollerFit update: Zoe is still an excellent workout partner.  She gets restless during abs, but has been content throughout classes this month.  :)  Thanks Zoe!

Zoe's 6 month stats:
Height 27 inches (90%)
Weight 17.6 (60%)
Head 17.25 (75%)

Sweet kids
Leila opening her cards and reading them
She got so many great books.  Magic treehouse books.  She and Holden are loving these books, we are almost done with book #4.

Leila got her first "just like you doll."  Her muffy got her the gymnastics outfit.
Leila named her Hannah and then changed her name to Sophia!

Sisters

Leila and Zoe getting ready before Leila's birthday party.  I thought this picture was funny because they were both holding their arms up the same way.

Leila's 7th Birthday!

Leila had been wanting a Paul Frank birthday party, so she got just that.  We celebrated her birthday at Strikz.  She invited the girls from her class, some of her other friends and family.

Here she is with her party favor bags.

Pierced Ears

I decided it was time to have Leila's ears pierced now that she was turning 7 and she was on board.  Her main concern was how much it would hurt.   I took her to sweet and sassy with her fan club, Holden, Zoe, dad and CoCo.  She chose her earrings, little diamond flowers.  We had the option to have both her ears pierced at the same time, or one a time.  The more nervous Leila got, the more the Sweet and Sassy girl urged me to do them both at once.

Leila is getting her ears prepped.  Starting to look nervous...
Dots on her ears, now re-thinking this big girl decision

The 2 girls are on either side of her getting ready to pierce her ears.  Telling her that they would do it 1.2.3 and then it would be over.  Big Crocodile tears...

Done!  Giving Leila some love after the big ordeal.

She is still so sad.

She got some yummy smelling sparkle spray for her hair and they painted a star on her face!

There is the smile!  She said it wasn't so bad, but it did hurt!  She left with a certificate and cleaning stuff for her ears!  She does remind me 3X per day to clean her ears.

Teach the Parent night

It was teach the parent night at Holden's Montessori.  He spent an hour showing me all the interesting things he does at school and everything he is learning.
He showed me math, reading and for fun practical life.  (Practical life is something you learn early on at the Montessori, so he thought it was funny to show me something "baby.")
