Conversation

My mother and father in law are coming over to watch the kids while Adnan and I go to a mavs game. Here is the conversation I had with my kids:

Leila: How is Pappa (my mother in law) it's a long story how she got the name.. going to feed Zoe?
Me: With a bottle
Leila: She has breasts.
Me: Yes, she does
Leila: I know I know, you can only feed the baby that way if you HAD the baby
Holden: She can't feed the baby because she eats SPICY FOOD!

Discovering Bugs

It happened yesterday. Sprouts, 2:00 pm! Zoe discovered her one lonely bug hanging from her car seat. I've had the "bugs" hanging from her car seat bar for weeks now, they have gone completely unnoticed until yesterday, when she realized she could swat it and it would move. Oh the fasination and fun for mom watching her discover something new!!

My Favorite Place on earth...

Well, at 10 weeks Zoe's most favorite place to be is on the changing table. It's like pure bliss. She becomes so happy know matter what when she first lays down! It's just funny! :)

Well, this picture just looks like a baby on a changing table...everytime I'd hold the camera up she would stop smiling...and her hair...it was just coming off a mohawk.

Reptile Fest

Leila and Holden enjoyed an afternoon with dad at the Reptile Fest, part of the Museum of Nature and Science. From what I heard they had a great time learning, touching and seeing snakes, turtles, and geckos. They also had a chance to play at the Children's museum and outside by the water. :)

Dad's Art Show

It was an exciting night for my dad. He had his first art show at The Artists' Showplace! We attended a reception on Friday night! He has been painting for years. As a kid I remember sitting at Cottonwood Art Festival as my dad sold his paintings. Since he has retired, he has really gotten back into it again!

Goo Goo Gaa Gaa-8 week update

Zoe is doing a lot of sweet cooing! At 8 weeks she is going a great job tracking objects and really does want to have conversations. We are getting lots of smiles these days!!

Here are a couple of 8 week pictures. We had some professional ones taken and I'll upload those in a few days! They are much better than the blurry ones I took!

2 weeks 7 lbs 6 oz. and 21.25 length

4 weeks 9 lbs 10 oz. and 22 length

8 weeks 12 lbs 3 oz and 23 length

Zoe is eating every 3 hours during the day and going for 4+ hours at night! We've gotten lucky a couple of times and Zoe has given us a 6 hour stretch!

StrollerFit update: Zoe seems to be a good StrollerFit workout partner.

She does cry sometimes during class, but it's usually when we stop or when she wants her pacifier. Many times I wonder whose baby is crying and then remember...it's my baby! That's what I get for pushing an empty stroller for so long!!

Trick or Treat

It was another fun Halloween!

My parents, sister and mother in law came over for dinner and then to go trick or treating! It was always tradition in my house that Halloween was night with Dad! So it is really fun that the tradition lives on and my dad joins us to trick or treat with his grandchildren!

Once we got home the kids sorted their candy and had a couple of pieces. They spent the night at Muffy and Dusty's house (grandma and grandpa). They were each able to choose which pieces of candy they wanted to keep. Holden 4 pieces since he is 4 and Leila 6 pieces. (mean mom) They then left their candy on Muffy and Dusty's porch for the Great Pumpkin who distributes candy to children who don't have any. Once the Great Pumpkin visits he leaves a gift for the kids. Leila got a Little Pet shop toy and Holden got a Bakugan.

Don't feel too sorry for these poor kids that didn't get to keep their candy. They reported back to me that they had waffles with whipped cream for breakfast and some ice cream for dessert. My mom claims it was technically late in the morning and that they didn't eat that much ice cream. :)

Fun Times at StrollerFit

It was my first day back teaching StrollerFit! It felt so nice to be back!! I dressed up as the Octomom...so it was quite a job managing my 8 babies in my wrap along with my real caterpillar baby (who was in the stroller). I managed to teach with the eight babies the entire class, I only had one fall out :)!!

A lot of moms dressed up and of course the children looked adorable in their costumes!!

Strikers Fall Soccer

Holden's having another fun season! He is playing with 4 and 5 year olds and it has been so fun to watch him grow over the last few seasons!

Holden and his best Friend Ryan! Holden and Ryan have been playing together for the last 3 seasons! It's fun to watch them go crazy, high five and congratulate each other after they score!!

Leila's 4th Tooth

Leila lost her 4th tooth this week...all on the bottom row!

The tooth fairy visited and she got $2.

Quick story... She lost a tooth right after Zoe was born and the tooth fairy completely forgot to leave her money. She must have been "sleep deprived." I get the worst mom award!! Luckily Leila had slept in Holden's room that night and I was quick on my feet. I told her that the tooth fairy must not have been able to find her. :) We made a sign for her door,"tooth fairy, Leila is in here" and sure enough, the tooth fairy visited the next night.
