Sea World Continued

It's Shamu time!

We sat in the splash zone and got soaking wet. I'll never get over the unexpected abundance of freezing water. He splashed us 3 times in a row, YUK!

As Shamu was swimming around water would spray out of his blow hole. The first time it happened, it was really quiet and Holden yelled out, "Shamu just tooted!!"
Picture with a penguin...I'm surprised Leila would stand close to it as she doesn't like to get close to anything in costume.
We waited in line for what seemed like forever for this water rapid ride, but it was super fun! Leila and I got soaked again.

Getting Ready for Sea World...

After a LONG drive to San Antonio and the kids asking every 15 minutes, "Are we there yet?" We finally arrived at our friends home at 8:30 pm. It was a wild time with a 5, 4, 3 and 1 year old. :)

First stop was the splash park and then to the "Monkey ride" as the kids call it. Kids look a little apprehensive here.

Vacation...

We had such a great time on vacation!! The kids had anticipated it for so long with Leila counting down the days until it was vacation day. We went to San Antonio to visit some friends, go to Sea World, a wedding and get some much needed R&R.

I'm going to post in segments with pictures one so that Leila and Holden can look back and get all the details and remember the fun we had and two, so I don't bore everyone else who is reading this.

Wordless Wednesday

What a Morning...

The Morning started off with Holden standing right by my bed saying "Mommy". As I opened my eyes, there he was standing with a pair of scissor in his hand. After telling him he must walk and put them away, here comes Preston (our dog), Not a good thing to let the dog into the house when he has not been outside yet. Luckily no gifts were left for me from the dog...

BUT Holden did leave me a gift on my bathroom floor directly in front of the full length mirror, any Guesses? About 6 curls. Yes, the scissors he had were used to cut his hair. He wanted it to "look different." Interesting...luckily with all that hair, it's hard to find exactly where he cut it.

Next, we had just arrived at StrollerFit and Holden was practicing his sprints. A moment later, I look over and he had fallen over a huge flower pot...Crying, crying, crying...I guess he didn't see it and ran right over it.

After getting him situated in his stroller, I realized I had a flat stroller tire. GEEZ...everything happens in 3's so hopefully we are good for the rest of the day!

The Many faces of Holden!

Funny Fridays

Holden has recently decided that he can and will swim underwater. It consists of opening his mouth as wide as it can go, (to take the biggest possible breath) looking at the person at the pool standing next to him (to make sure they see how cool he is) and then he goes under water briefly, comes back up and smiles the biggest smile you've ever seen. He does it over and over and over. The big mouth and the looking around just gives me the giggles...I'm surprised he doesn't tap the kid standing next to him so they will watch.

Well, Leila declared the other morning that she was all packed up. :) She had finished packing for a trip a month away. Gotta love it.

One more from Holden...We finished swimming and my husband had taken Holden into the locker room to get him changed. Holden enjoyed asking, "Why is that man's tummy so BIG?" Before Holden could ask about another man, my husband had to distract him, "Hey Holden, look over here." This was one of those moments that I'm glad my husband got to handle. :)

4th of July Weekend

We had a fun 4th of July weekend. Our friends from Midland came in town to for the weekend. We had lots of fun thing planned, but most of the plans didn't work out like we had "planned." Thank goodness for good friends, because we were able to have a good time anyway!!

Fun Weekend...

It was a fun weekend for the kids. We had some of our friends over Friday night for dinner and the kids played, screamed (mostly good) and had lots of giggles. They played dress up in princess outfits, I had put out Halloween costumes so Holden felt included. Of course he chose the Little mermaid costume. Poor guy, he doesn't have a chance with all these girls.

On Saturday, we went to a birthday party at a restaurant called Pasand. The kids had fun running around and eating Indian food.

Leila's Dance Recital

The weekend didn't start out great when we found Leila had strep. We found this out AFTER she had had a rehearsal the Saturday morning before the performance on Sunday evening. The dr. said she was contagious...the show must go on though! Of course she had complained that her throat hurt, along with her elbow, knee etc....so, I took her to the dr. thinking it was nothing as it usually is...

One of my girlfriends was in town from Midland for the dance recital. We had a fun weekend getting together with some of my college friends to see Sex in the City and have dinner!

Leila's recital went great. She did so well and was such a big girl. With her hair pulled back in a bun, I could hardly recognize her. It was really special because she was standing by her friend Ashlyn (who's mom was my college roomie and one of my best friends). I don't know how "special" it was for Stephanie since Leila had strep. :) What are friends for right?

1. What were you doing 10 years ago? I was in 9th grade studying for a history test. LOL! I had just gotten engaged and was planning a wedding. :)

2. What are 5 things on your to-do list today?
Teach StrollerFit, prepare for the instructor meeting, eat at Fadi's, run kids to and from school (today was holdie's first day in the Blue room (the 3-6 year old room), go to the grocery store...ha! We ate at Fadi's!

3. What are some snacks you enjoy? It's hard to narrow that down. I love fruit, hummus, chocolate etc.


4. What would you do if you were a billionaire? Give to those doing research for cancer, autism, Alzheimer's and promotion for organ donation. Buy my husband a travel show so that he could travel around and talk about all the neat places in the world. College funds for the kids! As for my job...I'd think I would keep doing what I'm doing now...just on a larger scale. (hire someone to help me with the paperwork though) :)
